Birthday “Silo-bration!”

14 May

Tuesday nights are oftentimes pretty laid back and uneventful in our house. We’re right smack dab in the middle of the work week and counting down the days until the weekend. Our one tradition on Tuesday nights is to watch the latest episode of Fixer Upper! I figure most people have seen the home renovation show; it’s hard not to love Joanna’s beautiful interior design or Chip’s ability to make everyone laugh! One place they often refer to on the show are the Silos.

They purchased the Silos and in October 2015 opened the area (which includes their store) to the public. Houston & I had talked a little before about how cool it would be to go and explore someday. So one day we were talking and he said that’s what he wanted to do for my 25th birthday! Needless to say I was SO excited!!!

Fast forward to April. We headed west to Arlington where we would stay for a few days. It was like a mini-vacation! The time off together was wonderful. We stayed up late watching tv and slept in each day. We didn’t have many plans or much of an agenda. It was so nice!!

Our one for sure plan was to head south to Waco for the day. I didn’t realize it then, but Waco is a pretty good ways from Alrington. We made it to the Silos. It was everything you could imagine and so much more. The atmosphere of it all just brings an immediate smile to your face. Even the weather was perfect!

Their store is huge! It’s filled with gorgeous home decor and accessories that have Joanna written all over them. There are flowers, dishes, pictures, tshirts, and much more!

The “sitting” area is perfect for a couple or a family. There are multiple food trucks, a big lawn for kids to play on, picnic tables, and uplifting music playing over the speakers. It was awesome!

Here are a few pictures…

This was a trip to remember. The best birthday trip ever! So very thankful! God is so good. ❀️

If anyone is considering going to visit the Silos I absolutely recommend it!!!! πŸ˜„

Blessings,

Mrs. Hannah D. ☺️
